This week went real well. We had the baptism of Monica Monday night. We had a lot of members come too. Every one was really excited for her. The spirit was really strong. She cried through the rest of the service after she was baptized. Hopefully i will receive more pictures, but we had a lot of people. The stake president, the LZs. and both duplas of sisters in our district also came. It was truly a day of miracles.
I left for Congonhas Tuesday morning. But the bus ran out of tickets so i had to wait in the bus station until 12:30 to catch a bus to Juiz de Fora, the another at 5:30 to Lafaiete. Elder Melo and one of our LZs were waiting for me at the stop. It was 9, so we ended up staying the night in Lafaiete. The next morning we sent off our LZ to Juiz de Fora to fetch his companion and to have a meeting. We took our bus to Congonhas which was about 45 minutes. It is a pretty nice town. It covers a lot of ground and we are the only missionaries here so we have a lot of work to do. haha. We have a branch here, but our goal of course is a ward. So we will be working a lot on reactivating the members and finding our elites. The days here are hot and the nights are cold, I have to use 2 blankets!! But the members seem really good. We have received 11 referrals this week so we are kept busy. I am really excited to keep working here in Congonhas with Elder Melo. He is one of the people you can´t be sad, or mad around. His laugh is contagious and his English isn't that bad either. haha.
One thing that i think was really funny, is during church, right after sacrament meeting, around 10 of the members went outside the church to the parking lot- just to stand in the sun. haha. It must´ve been cold inside the church. I am glad to hear everything is going well! I forgot about July 4th but today we are having a BBQ with some of the youth in the branch so we are kind of celebrating. haha.
Love you guys!!
