weekly letter

Olá,
This last week went by really fast. We have been running around the city trying to deliver some Liahonas to the new members, but still good. We have met a lot of people that want to learn english and so we will start a class here and see how that goes. We also had a baptism on Satueday! His name is Elias, and has a girlfriend that is a member. We went to his house once, shared the restoration message, and he asked if he could be baptised. Haha. We explained the commandments to him and he accepted to live all of them. And now he is planning on marriage and sealing in the temple. It was a really cool experience. We asked him who he would like to baptise him, and he said, `´ Elder americano can.`´ haha. It was interesting becauser the water heater broke so i had to break the ice in the baptismal font, and try not to get pnemonia. haha. Well maybe not that cold, Elias didnt seem to mind it.
Sorry this week is a short letter. BUt here are some fotos of the baptism and our handburger after. haha. Glad to hear everything is going well at home. Good luck everyone on your vacations! Love you  guys!

Bem Vindo a Congonhas!!

Ola,
This week went real well. We had the baptism of Monica Monday night. We had a lot of members come too. Every one was really excited for her. The spirit was really strong. She cried through the rest of the service after she was baptized. Hopefully i will receive more pictures, but we had a lot of people. The stake president, the LZs. and both duplas of sisters in our district also came. It was truly a day of miracles.
I left for Congonhas Tuesday morning. But the bus ran out of tickets so i had to wait in the bus station until 12:30 to catch a bus to Juiz de Fora, the another at 5:30 to Lafaiete. Elder Melo and one of our LZs were waiting for me at the stop. It was 9, so we ended up staying the night in Lafaiete. The next morning we sent off our LZ to Juiz de Fora to fetch his companion and to have a meeting. We took our bus to Congonhas which was about 45 minutes. It is a pretty nice town. It covers a lot of ground and we are the only missionaries here so we have a lot of work to do. haha. We have a branch here, but our goal of course is a ward. So we will be working a lot on reactivating the members and finding our elites. The days here are hot and the nights are cold, I have to use 2 blankets!! But the members seem really good. We have received 11 referrals this week so we are kept busy. I am really excited to keep working here in Congonhas with Elder Melo. He is one of the people you can´t be sad, or mad around. His laugh is contagious and his English isn't that bad either. haha.
One thing that i think was really funny, is during church, right after sacrament meeting, around 10 of the members went outside the church to the parking lot- just to stand in the sun. haha. It must´ve been cold inside the church. I am glad to hear everything is going well! I forgot about July 4th but today we are having a BBQ with some of the youth in the branch so we are kind of celebrating. haha.
Love you guys!!

Ola!
Sorry I don't have much time today but this week was good. We have definitely seem=n miracles in the lives of the people. We have a baptism of Monica tonight. She expressed yesterday after church that she wanted to get baptized and has felt that this is the thing missing in her life. SO we are running around today to fill the font, help with the interview and cleaning the church. Also I will be transferred to Lafaiete-Congonhas. And so I will leave in the morning and sit for 8 hours on a bus. But I am excited to see a different part of Brasil. Sorry have to go. Love you guys tons! Happy 4th!
